Extra Credit

Extra Credit 1. The man was pushed onto the tracks by a panhandler and then the photographer Umar Abassi ran over to him with his flash on taking pictures to warn the train to slow down. 2. To warn the conductor that there was a man on the tracks. 3. Yes I think it's important to remember things that happen even if it a terrible accident like this one. 4. No, I feel if he had really tried he would've been able to help pull the man off the tracks. 5. I feel like theres a lot of gray area around that but ultimately it is news and something that happened in the city that people should be aware of. 6. I feel like helping someone out would be way more important as in this instance someone died because of it, but if you have time you should take a picture. 7. Yes I think its fine because the photographer is apart of that photo he's part of the thing that is happening so he should be able to intervene. 8. I feel like you can influence things as lone as its morally ...

"When the World's Greatest Living Athlete is also an off-the-court phenom in business, in movies, and increasingly in politics, the time allotted for a photo shoot is limited (it was 45-minutes from the frame to the last). But photographer Pari Dukovic nevertheless captured LeBron James in a timeless, almost deified image that shows the strength, fierceness, and regal nature of GQ’s November cover subject. One worthy of blowing up and framing like a piece of art (which we did)." The picture is of Lebron James dressed as if he was a king since his nickname is The King. What I really like about this photo is the colors in the background. The choice of gold and black fits the picture perfectly. The gold mixes in with his skin color and then the shadow cast with his beard makes a good transition into the black. The gold crown on his helmet is around black emphasizing it and bringing it back to the gold at the bottom.  What is communicated in this picture is that...

American Soldier

A) The most powerful picture for me was the one with him and his squadron behind the old rusted car because it shows just how bad the conditions were there and what he had to go through. B) The images work together to tell a story because of the way its put together, it shows it chronologically and allows the viewer to see what went down with him without even having to read the article. C) The captions enhance the photograph by telling us what is occurring and some backstory to it. D) The story of Ian fisher is that he enlisted in the army and he quickly wanted to leave the army but he couldn't so he stayed. he engaged but then broke up with his current girlfriend. He was deployed in Iraq and fought while finding a new girlfriend and eventually marrying her. E) It is written in Present tense F) 1.  They are usually 3 sentences 2.  They talk about what is happening in the picture as you can tell 3.  Backstory that you cant obtain with just the picture 4. 3 Tips 1. Take a Series of Shots Switch your camera into ‘burst’ or ‘continuous shooting’ mode and fire off more than one shot at a time. In doing this you create a series of images that could be presented together instead of just one static image. This technique can work very well when you’re photographing children – or really any active subject that is changing their position or pose in quick succession. 2. Frame Your Subject Framing is a technique where by you draw attention to one element of an image by framing it with another element of the image. 3. Experiment with Subject Expressions In some portraits it is the expression on the face of your subject that makes the image. Get your subject to experiment with different moods and emotions in your image. Play with extreme emotions Environmental Pictures- I really like these photos because its two very different pictures showcasing different environments Photography Self Portrait- I like these because they ...

Ethics in Fashion Photography

1. The changes made to the model were her eyes were made bigger, shoulders lowered and hair was made crazy. 2. Her skin was made lighter, made her legs and neck longer, enhanced facial features and changed her hair. 3.  So basically Pizza 4. It is not because its offensive to the models 5.  It would be more ethically wrong if you completely changed someones entire appereance 6. The types of changes are maybe a little airbrushing 7. Theres probably more editing and stuff in fashion than in journalism 8. It bends reality and deceives everyone who sees it 9.  You are showing us these videos to make us aware of a big problem in the fashion photography world 10. I feel like women are more altered and targeted more than men

Photo Manipulation and Ethics

Image
A. Some of the points I read about was whether photo manipulation is unethical or ethical. Many people believe that photos shouldn't be altered heavily and be used to change someone's appearance all together. B.  They believe that even though they have made mistake in the past, they believe that it would never happen now as they make sure to catch things like that in posts nowadays. C. I think you shouldn't post someones face on someone else's body but I do believe light touch ups are okay as long as you don't go overboard on it. D. This photo is the most unethical because of the magnitude of the change they tried to do. They tried to make the woman more attractive then she really was.  They tried to lie to every one about her appearance and it's also very insulting to the woman in that photo. She would be insulted as she would believe that the editors think she is ugly. E. I find this one the least unethical. I find this to be the least because all ...

1. For this Picture the composition rule I followed was rule of thirds. 2. The subject is the pot being glues back together.  3. Yes it is clear what the subject is in this picture. 1. For this picture I used lines. 2. The subject for this picture is the teacher as she is isolated. 3. I think it might be a little unclear who the subject is but is easy to find out. 4. I could have shot it from a different angle to further isolate the teacher. 1. I don't think for this picture I followed a rule. 2. The subject of this photo are the two girls working. 3. Academic Shoot Review

2018 Best Story Because it shows the kids working on a science lab, we don't know what they're looking for or anything so it leaves us guessing how the story ends. Best Action Because it shows the people working on welding. The action is the welding and from the looks of it, it appears they are welding two small things together.  Most interesting Stuff- This photo tells the most because we see kids outdoors. They are smiling but we don't know what they're smiling about also we see animals on the top which add to the scenario. 2012 I picked this photo because I like how the green colors form into the purple colors. It really draws your eyes to the color of the purple which I think is beautiful. One rule in the photo is lines because the liquid being poured leads the eye directly to the dark purple I picked this photo because i like the colors and the liquid coming back up in singular drops. This photo shows lines from the trash bag to the liquid...
